Pete Seeger & Joan Baez at Newport cd sets

The NEWPORT FOLK FESTIVAL introduced artists destined to become major stars, most notably Joan Baez in 1959 and Bob Dylan in 1963. The 3-cd set, originally released by Prestige on three LPs, features Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, Earl Scruggs, Odetta and others.

Paving the way for Bob Dylan, PETE SEEGER'S American Industrial Ballads and American Favourite Ballads inspired the Folk Revival. Both albums are on the 2-cd set in this package.

The JOAN BAEZ 2-cd set includes her first self titled album, with songs like Silver Dagger, House of the Rising Sun and Donna Donna. The second album, Folksingers Around Harvard Square, recorded with Bill Wood and Ted Alevizos, includes Black is the Colour and So Soon the Morning.
